Angrove Country Park

We visited Angrove Country Park on March 22nd 2019, we stayed in the Kingfisher Lodge for 3 nights. Our group consisted of my partner and I, Luka and 2 of our friends.

The park is located in the North Yorkshire Moors, set in the beautiful countryside. Angrove was built in 2018 so is still fairly new, the luxury feel of the park is apparent from the moment you drive in.

Check-in was a pleasure, we where greeted by a very friendly member of staff who not only went through the necessaries with us but was very helpful in giving us some great info about the local amenities and explained the park facilities and areas, we couldn’t wait to get to our lodge and take a look around!

The lodge itself had plenty or parking, our party had 3 cars and there was ample parking. The lodges are truly stunning, from the outside and in, we had a private hot tub, open plan kitchen diner and living room, two large bedrooms, one double with en-suite and one twin (worth noting that on request the lodge park had changed the twin to a double) and a large decking are with stunning views of the park and the countryside.

Everything was clean and tidy, the lodge interior was fresh and clean and had a nice quality feel throughout. As one of the pet friendly lodges I was a little concerned that it may be “doggy” but if you weren’t told you wouldn’t know the lodge had ever had a pet inside. There was a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge on arrival and the hot-tub was pre heated and ready to hop in! There was also some essentials and a welcome treat for Luka, the lodge had a welcome pack that clearly explained the do’s and don’ts as far as dogs where concerned, as well as any other points to note around the park.

The lodge was packed with all your home comforts, tv’s, wifi central heating, washing machine and dishwasher. From the moment we unpacked it really felt like a home from home.

Needless to say Luka was over the moon with this new exciting adventure, we brought with us his travel crate for him to sleep in as at the time of visiting Luka was only 6 months old and we didn’t want any puppy-potty accidents !

The location of the lodge park has the perfect balance of countryside peace and serenity but is also close enough to civilisation with shops supermarkets and pubs a short drive away. There were plenty of scenic walks to go on and the local villages had plenty of dog friendly cafe’s and pubs. The Roseberry Topping is also a short drive away from the park and is a lovely walk for anyone brave enough to take on the steep incline, we did, the view from the top is well worth it! Saltburn Beach is also about a 30 minute drive from the park and is a real doggy haven as far as dog friendly beaches go.

There Is also a restaurant and cafe on site at the lodge park, “The G & Tea House” is Angrove’s very own coffee bistro meets gin bar, I can only say that it looked superb and was always busy! We didn’t get to try it out for ourselves as we where slow on the uptake with pre-booking for some of the evenings but I’d recommend giving it a try during your stay. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner as well as a variety of themed evenings too. Oh and lets not forget the large choice of artisan Gins, with your lodge just a short walk away I suppose it would be “rude not to!

Our weekend flew by, before we knew it it was Monday morning and time to head home! Check-out was at the reasonable time of 10am, when it came to saying goodbye we where told that repeat bookings qualify for a 10% discount which was a nice incentive to return, and ads to the feel of being a valued customer. Sandra the Park Manager was an extension of Angrove’s luxury and welcoming vibe, friendly and professional, a true credit to the park. When we had a small issue with our hot-tub Sandra was only too happy to help, even on a Sunday evening after working hours.

Luka enjoying sunbathing out on the decking.

Our stay for 3 nights for 4 adults and 1 dog was Β£345 which compared to other places we looked at was exceptionally reasonable! We booked our stay through Hoseasons. Value for money I would say was excellent and the Luxury in Angrove park is not just a word in the name.

Would I recommend Angrove? Yes! In a heartbeat. With or without your dog this place is a gem in the Yorkshire Countryside and I can safely say we will be back!

Our Lukable score for Angrove is 8 out of 10.
